This enchanting royal rhyolite rainforest jasper crystal talisman has been handcrafted by us here at Platypus Dreaming, in Far North Queensland, Australia. The rhyolite is some of the highest quality on Earth. It originates from the Mt. Hay volcano area in Queensland, Australia, where minerals and and siliceous material have replaced ancient lava pockets. It was first mined commercially in the late 1960s and continues to be a popular gemstone with cutters and collectors around the world. The Rhyolites of the Mt Hay volcanic, which are dated at around 120 millions years old, occur in varying shades of green, brown, red and cream. This talisman features a 1000 pure silver tribal bead that has been hand-cut and chiseled using traditional techniques.
