Boulder Opal comes from a particular area in Queensland, near the outback towns of Winton, Koroit and Opalton. They are famous for their deep strong ironstone with stunning patterns and inclusions. This is a SOLID OPAL – it is not a doublet or triplet! Before you purchase any opal, please check what it means! Do your own search! Cutting opal is a fine art —the opal is “slivered” throughout the stone and ten seconds too long at the wheel can destroy the colour completely! The finished result is boulder ironstone with the precious opal inclusions cut as one piece.
